Music unites people. It crosses racial, socioeconomic and cultural boundaries, and is the great common denominator of all mankind. Society has been pushed towards seclusion, and our kids have learned to interact with machines and not people. Music education has been one of the first things to be cut from educational budgets despite the fact that studies have proven kids who study music do better in their studies and accelerate faster into more complex learning than those who do not study music.
It is our firm belief that music can open windows in the mind, and provide a life long source of joy, release and solace. And so we teach.
The Garrett Park School of Music is a complete music environment. We begin with pre-school age kids teaching music appreciation.
Our private lessons are available daily and encourage musical interaction with other students and disciplines offering an overview of musicianship that creates unity with fellow musicians. We offer guitar, piano, bass guitar, drum and vocal lessons.
Students who demonstrate aptitude and skill are encourage to audition for Jazz Band and Rock Band group classes where they work with professional musicians to learn to function in a band environment. Concerts are the culmination of these week courses.
The Garrett Park School of Music offers seminars throughout the year that cover a variety of educational topics. Our "Sitting in With" series will offer students a chance to have an intimate audience with some of todays best artists. Special Gallery Classes will be offered year round to encourage and educate our students.
